Our New Home and a "Fun" Mother's Day ;)

They were fixing the pole in front of the house, so don't mind the mess.

We got all moved into our new home! We are loving it. It is beautiful. Now getting settled into our home is a different story. Between driving kids back and forth from Spanish Fork and Springville for school, Mady's dance recital coming up and getting invites ready for that, baking a wedding cake, getting ready for Ben to receive his endowments, attending a temple sealing in a couple of weeks, going to the doctor every other day with sick kids (or so it seems), unpacking seems to remain on the back burner. At least we are here, and that is what matters :) I have missed blogging, even though it's only been a couple of weeks since my last post. We finally got internet hooked up last night! Woohoo! ;)
We bought all the kids new beds; they just need to be picked up and set up, so for now they are sleeping on mattresses on the floor. We are waiting for our kitchen table to arrive as well, so for now the kids are eating on top of the counter while Ben and I eat standing up. It's quite the sight. Hopefully we won't have to do this much longer.
I thought the drive every day would bother me, but it's actually quite nice. I'm used to driving to Mona, so this is not bad at all.
We live on the outskirts of town, so the view is beautiful here. I love looking out my loft area window and seeing the city lights from afar. Homes will be going up all around us, so for now we are enjoying the view.

We had an eventful Mothers Day! One I will never forget! We were at my parent's house. We told the kids to go get in the car so we could go up to Grandma and Grandpa McQuivey's house for a Mother's Day dinner. Marshall decided to take a detour before getting in the car. Being a 100% boy that he is, he decided to walk on my Mom's wooded fence. He was getting down and slipped. He straddled the fence (bruises down there are evident of that, poor kid) then he flipped on over onto the rocks in the carport, face first. He was holding a sucker. He landed on the sucker too. I was finishing up in the computer room when I heard Mady screaming. She was so shaken up. I felt so bad for her. I tried to soothe her the best I could before taking Marshall to the ER. She was so worried about her big brother. She is such a good little sister. After I heard the screams I went to see what was going on. I heard my Mom and Ben talking in a calm voice so I thought it was nothing. I saw my Mom coming down the hallway carrying Marshall to the bathroom with blood streaming down his face. I freaked out. (I need to work on taking my Mom's advice and stay calm. I know all it does is freak the kids out when I panic in emergencies. I have much to learn from my Mom and Ben). I started feeling nauseous and tears started swelling in my eyes. My Mom got a washrag and pulled sucker pieces from his wound. We headed to the hospital and left there with 4 stitches. Needless to say, we missed the dinner. I feel so bad for Marshall. He gets his stitches out today. He will have a scar to brag about. He already has a bunch of scars to brag about after his heart surgery. He will be the coolest kid in school ;)
I hope to get back to blogging regularly, but it will probably be a bit before things get in order around here. The sun is finally shining outside and it is a beautiful day, so go enjoy it! We sure will!
